The Decision Factory in collaboration with Arup presents

Black Youth in Business

An opportunity for Black youth to receive access to prestigious and reputable organisations that offer a range of admirable and respectable career options.

Who are the Decision Factory?

The Decision Factory (TDF) are a Community Interest Company focused towards the development of black youth. TDF have partnered with Arup as well as Sheffield’s Black community, for a second successive year to launch the our Black Youth in Business Programme (BYIB).

The programme

The programme is designed to grant access to the wonderful world of Built Environment Consultancy with both the company leadership teams and the technical experts who deliver some of Arup’s most exciting projects. This phase of the programme will be focussing on children aged 9-12 and will be hosted delivered via an online platform named Microsoft Teams.

Both days will host representatives from either consulting/ engineering who will interact with the boys providing them with a brief overview of an array of consulting and engineering disciplines.

The curricular for these days will take the format of workshops. Use of Arup’s great Digital Technology will be showcased for those in attendance to view and potentially use. The end goal here is to show these students an alternative route to success by catching young minds from an early age before negative connotations of ‘success’ begin to form.

Get involved!

TDF and Arup are looking for volunteers to assist with the production and management of an online workshop which is to be ran using Microsoft Teams
If you would like to get involved and would like more details, please contact Ramone Johnson or Yutian Zhou.
